Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 August 2026
Nyro is a birthday reminder app that keeps your data on your device. There are no accounts, no sign-up, and no cloud sync. The birthdays, reminders, notes and gift ideas you enter are stored in a private database on your phone and are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
This policy explains what happens to information when you use Nyro (the "App"), published by Vladimir Ciuculescu ("we", "us").
1. Information stored on your device
Everything you enter into Nyro is written to a local database on your phone. This includes:
- Names of the people you track, and their birth day, month and (optionally) year
- Any notes you attach to a person
- Reminder settings — how many days ahead, or a specific date, and the time of day
- Gift ideas, including titles, estimated prices, currencies, notes and store links
- Gift history — gifts you have recorded as given, with prices and dates
We never receive this information. It does not leave your device, it is not backed up to our servers, and we have no ability to read it. If your phone is set up to back itself up to iCloud or Google, the App's data may be included in that backup, which is governed by Apple's or Google's own privacy policy rather than this one.
2. Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally through your device's operating system. The reminder text is generated on your device and handed to the system notification scheduler. No push server is involved and no notification content is transmitted to us. You can revoke notification permission at any time in your device settings; the App will keep working, but reminders will not appear.
3. Purchases and subscriptions
Nyro offers an optional paid subscription ("Nyro Pro"). Payment is handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your card details, billing address, or Apple/Google account credentials.
To determine whether your subscription is active, we use RevenueCat, a subscription management service acting as our data processor. RevenueCat receives:
- A randomly generated anonymous app user ID — not linked to your name or email
- Purchase and receipt data from Apple or Google (product, purchase date, renewal status)
- Basic technical information such as platform, OS version, app version, and country of the store account
This is the only category of data that leaves your device, and it exists solely to unlock paid features and to restore your purchase if you reinstall or change devices. It is never combined with the birthday data described in section 1 — that data is never transmitted at all.
4. What we do not do
- No analytics or usage tracking SDKs
- No advertising and no ad identifiers
- No crash or performance reporting services
- No access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or location
- No selling or sharing of personal information with third parties
5. Deleting your data
The App includes a Delete all data action in Settings, which permanently erases the local database, including everyone you have added and all scheduled reminders. Uninstalling the App also removes its local database from your device. Both actions are irreversible and neither requires contacting us.
Purchase records held by RevenueCat, Apple, and Google are retained under their own policies, as they form part of the transaction record. To request deletion of the subscription record associated with your anonymous ID, contact us at the address below.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR, the CCPA, or similar laws — including access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection. Because your personal content never reaches us, you exercise most of these rights directly and immediately on your device: the data is yours to view, edit, and delete inside the App at any time.
For the limited subscription data described in section 3, contact us and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
7. Children
Nyro is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Since the App collects no personal information on our side at all, there is nothing for us to remove; a parent or guardian can delete all local data using the in-app action described in section 5.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised "last updated" date. Material changes will also be noted in the App's release notes.
